We work with just a small number of carefully selected clients each year, so that designing your travel remains personal; just you and the two of us.

If it seems from an initial conversation that we can offer you what you want then the first step is a face to face meeting where possible, or we can set up an initial conference discussion by phone.
Since we work with only a small number of clients each year, we want to avoid a fruitless situation, where we spend time discussing, and working on, ideas with clients, only to then see them take our ideas elsewhere, and request quotes from other sources. Having our ideas offered to other sources with the object of taking the lowest price can be galling. We prefer to establish an arrangement where we work exclusively on your travel planning.
To facilitate this, before we start designing with you a consultation fee of £1000 is paid (per potential booking, not per possible traveller). On payment of this fee we commence working together on your travel plans.
After listening to your requirements, we will put forward an initial programme for discussion, based on your suggestions. We will amend this as necessary after discussion with you until we have designed the travel plans that you want.

Financial Security
A word about Financial Security: Derek and Martin will act as your travel designers, helping to put your travel plans together. But once your travel plans are agreed, they could be expensive, so you need to know that your money is safe. And this is where Lightline comes in.
D and M Travel Design is a trading name of Lightline Pilgrimages Ltd, holder of ATOL number 9693. All monies for your travel will be paid to Lightline, a licenced and bonded company who will issue your ATOL Certificate and any Bonding details as required under UK Law to ensure your financial security.
So once your travel arrangements are agreed to your satisfaction a deposit will be payable to Lightline Pilgrimages Ltd. The cost of any scheduled airfare may be payable at this time, if the fare basis requires immediate payment, but otherwise once your deposit is paid a date for payment of the Balance will be agreed. A copy of the Booking Terms and Conditions will be supplied by Lightline at the time of booking.
Final documents will be sent 2 weeks before travel.
Subsequent to your booking Derek and Martin will be available for discussion at any time up to and during your travels.
